New, best friends... Obama and Hillary
Their new-found chumminess increased speculation yesterday that presidential hopeful Barack Obama may pick former rival Hillary Clinton as his running mate for the Democratic ticket.
After a divisive primary battle the two have been trying to unite their party ahead of the November election against Republican John McCain.[>

But while they campaigned together in New York, left, furore still raged over disparaging remarks made about Obama by civil rights campaigner the Rev Jesse Jackson.[>

During a filmed interview on Sunday, Jackson complained – when he wrongly thought the microphone was off – that Obama was talking down to the black community and that he wanted “to cut his nuts off”. Jackson has since apologised for the “hurtful and wrong” remarks.[>
