She said: "We are leaving this week for a year on a round-the-world trip, so I thought the evening was going to be a goodbye meal with our parents.

"I even joked to Adam that they do weddings at the restaurant.

"When Adam nipped to the loo and our song started playing on the music system, I was about to start filming it on my phone, but then they all started walking in. I have never felt happiness like it.

"It was a complete surprise, it was incredible.

"I grilled Adam later and he said he was really nervous and told me about all my sisters had done to plan the surprise, even delivering plans to everyone so I wouldn't find out through social media.

"I know it sounds like some peoples' worst nightmare, but I absolutely loved it, I was in my element."

Alexandra Harding, general manager at The Church Restaurant, said: "When Harriet's sisters, Polly and Lucy, first got in touch, it was mainly discussions.

"They popped down to the restaurant and we agreed for the proposal to take place in the chapel bar.

"They said they had such bad luck in getting anywhere to help them, but as soon as I met them, I knew I wanted to help them in any way I could.

"It probably also helped that we're hopeless romantics here at the Church.

"Naturally, it was an absolute pleasure to be a part of, they are a lovely couple and they have a fabulous family.

"It was really heart-warming to see so many of them singing for one couple, when he got down on one knee I cried.

"I wish them many happy years together and hope to see them all again soon perhaps even for a wedding."
