Hurry up Russy Wussy

The teenage pupil at Canford School in Dorset “pestered” economics teacher Russell Woolwright with the messages in one of which she urged him to “party in my pants”, the jury was told.

The girl claims during an ensuing tryst in an alleyway, Woolwright kissed her then “caused or incited” her to commit a sex act.The 30-year-old teacher however denies the sex activity and says when they met at her request “she leant forward to try and kiss me” but he rebuffed her saying: “Leave me alone.”

Woolwright claimed today he was first sent a number of emails by a friend of the pupil who told him the sixth former “wants you” followed by “hurry up Russy Wussy”. When Woolwright failed to show up for a meeting, the alleged victim messaged him, saying: “Russ you’re being *****g gay. Come on Russ.”

Woolwright, from Bristol, a former professional tennis player who no longer works at the school, denies two charges of causing or inciting sexual activity with a girl as an adult in a position of trust.

Bournemouth Crown Court heard he met her to urge her to stop the emails but did not go to the headmaster about them because “I felt I could deal with it.”

The trial continues.
