CCTV footage has been released showing a group of yobs fighting in the street in broad daylight.

The video, available to watch below, shows a man rip off his jumper and throw it to the ground as another yob gets pumped for a fight by bouncing on the ground like a boxer in the ring.

At least four others gather, including a man who runs across the road to help his friend, straight in front of an oncoming car which brakes suddenly.

The frightening brawl then begins with one man being thrown to the ground and another violently stamps on him.

He then tries to stand up and is pushed back to the floor.

A car is forced to swerve around the brawl as passersby look on horrified.

The violence broke out in Flixton Road, Urmston, in Greater Manchester on the evening of Monday April 14. Officers investigating the case have now issued CCTV in a bid to catch the men and youths involved.

Police said a drunken man walked up to a group of youths and started talking to one of the gang.

Moments later, the pair squared up to each other and exchanged punches - sparking the larger fight.

Footage from a second camera then shows the drunk man, who removed his T-shirt before the brawl, walking after three youths and making gestures at them.

One of the trio then knocks him to the floor again. As they walk off, the man is shown to lift himself up, wobble and weave a few yards, then clasp a metal post at a pedestrian crossing to steady himself.

Police were called to the scene and later arrested and charged a 37-year-old man with affray.

Officers are now trying to identify the group of youths involved in the attack, which happened at about 7.30pm.

Pc Clare Robinson, of Urmston police, said it was fortunate no one was seriously injured.

She added: "The fight spilled into the street and a number of those involved were a hair's breadth away from getting mown down by passing motorists.

"They have not given a second thought to the alarm and distress this caused to those nearby and I want the public's help to identify all involved."
