The news comes after the Daily Express revealed the full horror of the murder of Mrs Maguire, which was witnessed by two classes of pupils.

The 61-year-old managed to stagger into another classroom after the attack and pleaded for mercy as the teenager pursued her.

But the mother-of-two was then stabbed numerous times in the second class at Corpus Christi Catholic College in Leeds.

As Mrs Maguire finally slumped to the floor in front of the 30 children a fellow teacher desperately tried to pull the attacker off his dying colleague.

His efforts were in vain but he managed to restrain the boy until other members of staff rushed to his aid.

A witness said: "She ran for her life but he caught up with her and she didn't stand a chance. She was screaming in terror."

It is claimed that during midmorning break on Monday the alleged attacker was brandishing a long-bladed knife in his schoolbag alongside a bottle of Jack Daniel's whiskey and made threats against the teacher who, it is claimed, gave him detention last week.

Mrs Maguire was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital.

Children in the two classes who witnessed the attack are receiving counselling but are also being interviewed by police.

Mrs Maguire's husband, Donald, 62, a former maths teacher at the school, was too distressed to talk.

Kerry is a former ballet dancer who now works as an osteopath in York.

Her sister is a renowned ballerina performing with the Royal Ballet in London.

Their mother was in her final term before she was due to retire after 40 years working at the school.

Mrs Maguire's sister Denise Courtney, 48, left her home in Warrington, Cheshire, yesterday to drive to Leeds with her husband Tom and other family members.

She was joined by their brother James Connor, 59, of Wigan, Greater Manchester.

The boy being quizzed has a picture of the Grim Reaper on his Facebook page. It also reveals his obsession with a heavy metal band linked to another bloody stabbing four years ago.

The boy, who cannot be named, repeatedly listened to Sheffield-based band Bring Me The Horizon, whose songs include Pray For Plagues, Death Breath and Suicide Season.

In 2011, the group achieved infamy when crazed 20-year-old fan David Russell posed online as the band's lead singer Oliver Sykes to lure a female fan from the US to her death.

Maricar Benedicto, 19, survived a frenzied stabbing attack in a deserted Northampton forest.

Russell was sentence to life.

It is understood forensic experts are trawling through the arrested 15-year-old's computer for any clues to what sparked the attack.
