Labour's £5k donation cap calls for taxpayers' money
LABOUR threats to make taxpayers fund political parties were slammed yesterday.
Ed Miliband’s party wants to impose a £5,000 cap on individual donations to parties, handing them more public money instead.
Labour’s 2015 general election manifesto is expected to pledge to “take the big money out of politics”.
It comes after the GMB union announced it will cut its affiliation fees to Labour by £1million a year.
Tory Party chairman Grant Shapps said: “Ed Miliband is now asking hardworking taxpayers to bail him out.”
