LA holiday couple drank water from tank containing dead body
A BRITISH couple on holiday in Los Angeles drank water from a hotel tank where a dead body had been rotting for three weeks.
Michael and Sabina Baugh, both 27, felt queasy and disgusted when they learned they had been drinking, brushing their teeth and showering in the water for eight days. When maintenance workers at the rundown Cecil Hotel in the city centre investigated, they found the body of Elisa Lam, a 21-year-old student from Vancouver, Canada, wedged in the large water tank on the roof.
It is believed the body may have been decomposing there for almost three weeks and the police suspect a possible murder. Sabina, of Plymouth, said: “It tasted horrible, it had a sweetly disgusting taste.”
The hotel is notorious for housing serial killer and rapist Richard Ramirez – known as the Night Stalker – in the mid-Eighties. He killed at least 14 people.
