High Intensity Interval Training and Sprint Interval Training totalling 90 minutes a week is as effective as five sessions of traditional exercise of five hours a week, a new study says.

Current Government guidelines recommend at least 30 minutes of exercise five times a week. But scientists say short bursts can lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels, cutting heart disease, stroke, cancer and Alzheimer’s risks.
