Woman of 84 dies as thugs pelt her home
A FRAIL 84-year-old collapsed and died of a suspected heart attack after rampaging thugs bombarded her home with bricks and smashed glass panels in her front door.
Last night, police were hunting three yobs – thought to be aged just 13 – following the death of widow Joyce Moulson.
Officers were called to reports of damage at Mrs Moulson’s smart terraced cottage in the Wibsey area of
Bradford at 6pm on Tuesday.
Neighbours told how the youths had been causing havoc in the area.
Mrs Moulson, who was inside with her grandson John, collapsed 10 minutes after the attack. She was taken by ambulance to Bradford Royal Infirmary but died.
A post-mortem was due to be carried out to establish the cause of death.
But investigators believe she suffered heart failure brought on by the fear of the attack.
It is important that we trace the individuals involved
Her family were too upset to talk but neighbours told how the area was blighted by yobs from nearby estates.
Tom Butler, 81, a friend of 40 years, said: “I just can’t believe this has happened. Something needs to be done
about the yobs around here.
“I’ve had a brick put through my window before and I’ve never done anything to anybody. I just hope they catch those responsible.”
Nicola Taylor, 29, who lives opposite, said: “It’s devastating. She must have been really scared.”
One youth was described as white, around 13, of large build with shoulder length hair. The others are of similar age but slimmer build.
Police appealed for witnesses. Det Chief Insp Simon Atkinson said: “It is important that we trace the individuals
involved. We are determined to bring those responsible to justice.”
