But Telford Magistrates Court heard Mansell was “scared to his wits end” about going to jail.

He also added: “To all the haters and wanted me to go prison didnt work haaaaaaaaha mugginz”.

Mansell, of Telford, Shropshire, admitted causing actual bodily harm and burglary. He was given a 16-week suspended sentence, a 12-month supervision order and told to pay £250 compensation.

His mother Stephanie Frank said he had done “nothing wrong”. Mr Ball was left housebound and unable to drive. A family friend said: “It’s a joke.”
