War air ace dies
ONE of the last women pilots of the Second World War has died aged 91.
Maureen Popp flew 800 hours with the Air Transport Auxiliary service, delivering RAF planes to airfields.
Mrs Popp, who died in Norwich, piloted Spitfires, Hurricanes, Lancaster bombers and others.
Her niece Patricia Hamilton said: “She was a very glamorous figure.”
