'Cornflake bowl' is worth £50,000
IT may look perfect for your cornflakes, but this yellow bowl that once lay forgotten in the back of its owner’s cupboard has been valued at £50,000.
Major Leslie Marsham, formerly of the Royal Household in London, was stunned to discover his porcelain dish was made for an 18th century Chinese emperor as a gift for his favourite concubine.
It is being sold tomorrow at auction in Dorchester, Dorset.
