Ban such grisly photos on Twitter
THE social networking site Twitter is under attack for allowing posters to put up photographs of a woman decapitated by a lorry.
Politicians are demanding that posting such graphic and sick images be made into a criminal offence.
The pictures were taken on mobile phones by people who saw the unidentified woman being struck by the 38-ton lorry in Manchester. Witnesses described them as “vultures circling over the scene”.
Junior Transport Minister Mike Penning said: “This is one of the worst, most macabre incidents I can recall. What is going through their heads?

“Twitter and Facebook have a moral responsibility to regulate what goes on their sites far more carefully to stop appalling actions like this one.” Local councillor Abid Chohan said: “There should be a change in the law to make such disgusting acts a criminal offence.”
Internet abuse was in the spotlight last week as student Liam Stacey, 21, was jailed for 56 days for posting racist tweets about heart attack footballer Fabrice Muamba.
