Tidy-up teen finds he's won lottery
UNTIDY teenager Ryan Kitching is £53,000 richer today – after his mother nagged him to clear up his bedroom.
The 19-year-old found 12 forgotten lottery tickets in his drawer. He was about to throw them away but said a “strange feeling” made him take them to a supermarket to double-check.
One ticket had five correct numbers and the bonus ball netting him £52,981.
Ryan, a part-time Tesco worker, said yesterday: “I am totally speechless – it was the happiest day of my life.
“My mum had been nagging me for weeks to tidy my room. Next time she nags me, i won’t need telling twice.”
His mother susan, who works in the same supermarket in Penicuik, Midlothian, said: “I’m really chuffed for him. Hopefully, he’ll listen to me next time.”
Ryan said he had not yet worked out what he will use the money for but added: “I’ll probably put some down on a house and treat my mum and dad to a holiday.”

He also plans to buy a car for his younger brother Sean, 16.
another of his tickets turned out to be a winner, too, but this time for just £2.80.
