Just shut up Sean Penn, warns Falklands war hero Simon Weston
FALKLANDS war veteran Simon Weston ordered Hollywood star Sean Penn to “shut up” yesterday after the actor criticised Prince William’s deployment to the islands.
He also labelled Britain a “colonial dinosaur”. It was the double Oscar winner’s second attack on the UK.
Simon raged: “Sean Penn does not know what he is talking about and, frankly, he should shut up.
“His views are irrelevant and it only serves to fuel the ire of the Argentinians and get them more pumped up.”
Penn faced outrage earlier this week for wading into the row over the sovereignty of the Falkland Islands.

But 50-year-old Simon countered: “All of his barracking of Prince William is very off-putting for a young man who is doing an incredible job in very difficult conditions.”
The Prince is spending six weeks on the islands in a “routine deployment” as an RAF rescue helicopter pilot.
In a meeting with Argentine president Cristina Kirchner on Monday, Penn referred to “the Malvinas Islands of Argentina” and said Britain should enter into UN-sponsored sovereignty talks.
