Man Utd ace denies rape claims
MANCHESTER United starlet Jonny Evans has been released on bail after being arrested in connection with an alleged rape at the club's Christmas party.
The 19-year-old was arrested yesterday on suspicion of rape following the party at the Great John Street Hotel in central Manchester.
Evans, a central defender who also plays for Northern Ireland, has played several times for United this season and is seen as a rising star at Old Trafford.
Greater Manchester Police were called to the hotel at 4.15am yesterday following reports that a 26-year-old woman had been raped.
Evans has been bailed until February 23 pending further inquiries.
