Our fifth home by age of 35
BRITONS have lived in an average of five homes by the time they reach the age of 35, while their grandparents lived in just three during their whole lives, a Royal Mail study found yesterday.
A survey of 1,000 under 35-year-olds also showed that one in 10 had lived at more than 10 different addresses, with some unable to buy a house and others being reluctant to settle down.
A tenth of those questioned said they had stayed in some houses for a month or less.
Royal Mail published the report as part of a campaign to encourage people to redirect their post to protect against identity fraud.
Their head of data, Keith Jones, said: “If mail lands on their old doorstep there is no control over who opens it and this threat is escalating.”
