Men in power make millions
THE six bosses of the mostly foreign-owned energy giants supplying British households earned £21million last year in salaries alone.
Latest accounts for the Big Six reveal massive pay packets as domestic gas and electricity prices soared.
Top-earner Jurgen Grossman, boss of Germany’s RWE, which took over Powergen , pocketed £7.9million.
His compatriot, Johannes Teyssen of E.ON, took home £3.8million.
Ignacio Galan, head of Spain’s Iberdrola, which owns Scottish Power, trousered £4.6million.
Henri Proglio of EDF earned £1.5million.
Old Etonian Sam Laidlaw of Centrica, which runs British Gas, saw his pay reach £2million.
Lowest paid of the six, Ian Marchant, boss of Scottish and Southern Energy, made a mere £1.2million.
