Euston chaos as all trains cancelled in Christmas rush due to overhead line
Engineers are assessing the tracks after a fault on the line saw mass cancellations for trains heading up north.
Euston station was plunged into chaos as all trains were cancelled coming into and out of London, London Northwestern Railway confirmed.
Engineers are currently on site assessing a issue on the line after a serious fault was detected on the overhead wires at Watford Junction.
Hundreds of passengers hoping to make it to their next destinations saw their travel plans ruined as Storm Pia's grip tightened across Britain.
In emotional tweets, members of the public described their heartbreak that trains they had booked were no longer running.
Officials said replacement buses would be running from Northampton to Milton Keynes, and from Milton Keynes to Watford Junction.
It comes as lines between London Euston and Manchester Piccadilly were disrupted today after a bag was caught on a power line between Stoke and Crewe.

In a statement, Network Rail said: "Our engineers are working to remove a bag that has been caught on the overhead power line between Stoke and Crewe.
The bag has since been removed with the lines being tested.
However, Network Rail did warn that it could take some time for services to operate as normal after the line reopens.
