Heartbreaking pictures show happy Hounslow family before their bodies were discovered

Police have said they are keeping an open mind about the tragedy, with post-mortem examinations scheduled to determine cause of death.

Four bodies found in Hounslow

A mother and her 11-year-old daughter are shown smiling and enjoying life in a series of pictures shared on social media before they were discovered dead.

The bodies of Monika and Maja Wlodarczyk were found along with Michal, Maja’s husband, and Dawid, their toddler son, at their Hounslow home.

The family was on Friday after officers forced their way into the property, in Staines Road, Bedfont, having become concerned for Wlodarczyks’ wellbeing. Police are keeping an open mind about the cause, but have asked people not to speculate online.

Most recently, on August 10, 2022, Ms Wlodarczyk shared a picture of the , likely to have been taken at Maja’s first communion. Another picture, taken on April 26, 2020, shows Maja with her baby brother.

On July 19, 2019, a happy looking is shown wearing an NYC baseball cap and smiling for the camera.

Maja and Monika are shown together in a picture shared on July 2, 2017, with the youngster holding a toy dog.

Ms Wlodarczyk’s page also says she comes from the Polish village of Rudnik Male in the south of the country, and lists her employer as the London Heathrow Marriott Hotel.

A statement issued by Joanne Lacey, headteacher of Southville Primary School, where 11-year-old Maja was a pupil, described her as a “valued member of our family”.

Ms Lacey added: “She was bright, confident, determined, sporty, and an excellent student.

“Maja’s brother, Dawid, was due to join us in our Nursery in September.

“This is clearly devastating news for Maja’s friends, our school family and the wider local community.”

Speaking on Friday, Detective Chief Inspector Linda Bradley, who is leading the investigation, said: “I would like to assure the community that specialist detectives are working to establish the circumstances which led to this tragic incident and we will provide further updates as soon as appropriate.

"Our thoughts are with everyone who has been affected by what has happened.”

The investigation was at an early stage, but police were currently seeking anybody else in connection with the incident, she stressed.

However, she added: “We are retaining an open mind, and I would ask anyone who feels they have pertinent information to contact us as soon as possible.”

Chief Superintendent Sean Wilson, local policing commander for west London, said: "I know the shock and distress that this terrible incident will cause among the community in Hounslow and beyond.

“I am also aware that this incident will be particularly upsetting for children, and I ask people to please be responsible about what they post on social media, including not naming or speculating as to the names of those who’ve died.

“There will be additional police officers in the area across the weekend, I urge anyone with information or concerns to speak with those officers.”

Enquiries continue and special post-mortem examinations will take place in due course.
