OAPs are left in the cold
SCOTLAND’S elderly face a winter of discontent amid claims the Government is set to miss its target of providing 6,000 homes with central heating systems.
Housing Minister Alex Neil has admitted only 173 systems have been installed since April under the Energy Assistance Package. Labour last night accused the SNP of failing pensioners, and claimed those completed were carried out under the previous administration’s scheme.
Shadow Housing Minister Mary Mulligan said: “At this rate it will take 14 years to meet their target for the first 12 months.”
