Anger as ‘honeytrap’ gang jailed
THE mother of a teenager who was lured to his death by the girl he loved told a court she had been “robbed of a precious gem” by a gang “with no souls”.
Shakilus Townsend, 16, died in a pool of blood last summer after being beaten with bats and stabbed six times.
Yesterday teenage “honeytrap” Samantha Joseph was jailed for life at the Old Bailey, along with six attackers.
Joseph, 17, whom Shakilus had hoped to marry one day, was detained for a minimum of 10 years.
Her boyfriend Danny McLean, 18, was jailed for a minimum of 15 years. Five other gang members aged between 16 and 18 were ordered to serve a minimum of 63 years between them.
Mother Nicola Dyer, 34, of Deptford, south-east London, told the judge in a statement: “I have been robbed of a very rare and precious gem… these young people with no souls had such a disregard for life. They should never again be allowed to destroy another family.”
