LONDON BLOODBATH: Teen stabbed to death in broad daylight West Kensington attack
A TEENAGER has died after being stabbed in a broad daylight attack in West Kensington, west London, as a wave of violent crime continues to blight the capital.
West Kensington: Police cordon off scene of stabbing
The victim, said to be in his late teens, was knifed in the chest in an attack in Lanfrey Place, off North End Road.
Police and paramedics were scrambled to the scene shortly before 2.15pm.
He was rushed to hospital but died a short time later.
Police cordoned off the crime scene which is close to West Kensington Tube station. Forensics officers were still searching the area as night fell.
Yousef Bahadory, who owns a dry cleaners close to the scene, said: "The boy was on the floor. There was so much blood. Someone went to get a doctor from the surgery nearby and she was pumping his chest."
Today’s attack comes amid a spate of knife crime which continues to grip London.
Just yesterday, another man lost his life in a fatal stabbing in the capital.
A murder investigation was launched after a 26-year-old man was knifed to death in Leyton, east London, on Wednesday evening.
Emergency services were called to North Birkbeck Road where they found the victim. He was declared dead at the scene at 5.10pm.
A police spokesman said: "At this early stage, it is believed the fatal attack on the man took place at a nearby residential address. The victim then left the scene before collapsing in the street. It is believed the victim and suspect were know to each other.
"The incident is not believed to be gang-related."
His death follows a string of high-profile stabbings in recent days, including 17-year-olds Jodie Chesney and Yousef Makki, who were killed in separate incidents in London and Greater Manchester over the weekend.
