Chef’s pub searched
POLICE investigating the disappearance of chef Claudia Lawrence searched a pub four doors from her house yesterday.
Forensic experts took away some bedding after spending six hours at the Nags Head in Heworth, York.
Claudia, 35, was a regular at the pub.
The nine officers arrived unannounced with a search warrant and scoured every room.
They found a speck of blood on a mattress in a guest bedroom. They left with a mattress protector and a sheet.
Pub landlord George Forman said: “It was a shock when the police arrived.
“I just want to help them find Claudia and if that means searching the pub then that’s all right by me.”
Claudia, who is believed to have had a number of secret sexual liaisons, has not been seen since leaving work on March 18.
