Denise Welch brands Katie Hopkins a 'Bully. Bigot. B***h.' in Twitter spat
ONE'S a former Loose Woman and the other has a history of upsetting people; Denise Welch and Katie Hopkins have become embroiled in a Twitter spat.
Denise, 56, tweeted Katie Hopkins this afternoon after mistaking a Katie Hopkins parody account for the real deal.
The actress told former The Apprentice star Katie her comments about TOWIE's Gemma Collins - comparing her to a "massive whale carcass" - were unacceptable. They were in fact from a parody account and not made by Katie herself.
Katie tweeted Denise, saying: "You utter buffoon - notice anything about the Twitter handle? … Seek help @MindCharity."
And the pair became entwined in a war of words over the social networking site with things escalating so quickly Denise branded Katie a 'bully' and a 'b***h'.
Denise said: "So because I speak out against @KTHopkin she makes fun of my association with @MindCharity. Bully. Bigot. B***h."
Katie was quick to respond, adding: "@MindCharity have a word with @RealDeniseWelch would you. it's all gone a bit Anthony Hopkins - Silence of the Lambs years."
Waterloo Road actress Denise continued to open up to her 380,000 Twitter followers, telling them she has 'lived with mental illness' since the birth of her first child.
The star said: "I have lived with mental illness since I gave birth 26 yrs ago. I have & will continue to speak out against bigots like @KTHopkins."
She added: "I am aware that ONE tweet was from a fan account. The rest, however, are from the horses mouth! x"
Katie's last response was four hours ago when she tweeted Denise a picture of a pair of stabilisers.
The reality TV star said: "Oi Denise Squelch, a present for you bird. Your brains gone wonky."
