LESS than two weeks ago Julianne Moore was named best actress at the 87th Academy Awards for her role in Still Alice.

And the stunning actress appeared to be still on a high after her win, as she sauntered out of the ABC studios after filming The View today.

The filmstar was dressed appropriately for the chilly temperatures in New York however still looked chic in her patterned ensemble.

With her red tresses worn down in loose waves, the 54-year-old beamed at photographers as she made her way to her car.

Despite their still being snow on the ground, the beauty teamed her chunky black coat with bare legs and elegant stilettos.

Julianne undoubtedly turned heads in her matching dress, complete with green print and large bow on the neckline.

She polished off her attire with a large designer tote and slick of pink lipstick, before after joining the famous panel.

During her appearance, the star told fans: "You have one life to live. You try to make the most of it," before discussing her husband Bart.

Julianne previously told Garth Pearce about her inspiration throughout her 30-year career: her late Scottish-born mother Anne.

"She was a cornerstone of good sense and encouragement. Even as a child she would never nag me over homework. She just said, ‘You are doing it for yourself. How much work you put in is up to you.’

"That made me work even harder. And right up to doing some pretty intense scenes of nudity in my films, she just calmly said, 'I would rather see you naked than dead.'"

The star also describes herself as a one-time "ginger geek" and the "school swot with glasses."
