Not even Kanye could save Grammys' audience figures
IT MAY have been one of the most talked about award shows so far this year but Sunday's Grammys drew the ceremony's lowest TV viewing figures in half a decade.
Despite memorable sights, including a predictable stage invasion from Kanye West, as American musician Beck collected the Best Album accolade, the show wasn't a hit with audiences attracting only 25.3 million US viewers, a dip of three million from last year.
But it wasn't all doom and gloom as British singer Sam Smith walked away with four gongs, despite the smallest audience since 2009. However it fared well online where it was streamed 7.5 million times globally.
Let's hope Kanye can think of a more impressive stunt in time for next year's event.
