Another casualty! Sally Bercow is 'gutted' she's OUT of The Jump after cracking her ribs

IT's been plagued by injuries and now Sally Bercow is the latest celebrity to quit Channel 4's winter sports programme The Jump.

The 45-year-old, who is married to Commons speaker John Bercow, is said to have fractured both of her ribs while training in Austria for the show.

Sally has now been forced to withdraw herself from the forthcoming second series which includes 15 other celebrity contestants on the line-up including Sir Paul McCartney's ex-wife Heather Mills, X Factor star Stacey Solomon and heptathlete Louise Hazel.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Sally's gutted. She wanted to continue."

Jodie Kidd has been drafted in as a substitute to replace Sally and is now heading to Innsbruck in Austria to undergo intensive training with the other stars in time for the launch of the contest early next month.

The news of Sally's injuries comes days after it was announced Chloe Madeley will be steppinng in for Ola Jordan who sustained injuries to her leg and hips while training at an indoor ski slope at The Snow Centre, in Hemel Hempstead.

At the time a spokesperson for Channel 4 confirmed the news, saying: "Unfortunately, due to injury, Ola is no longer able to take part."

Socialite Henry Conway, Sir Steve Redgrave and comedian Marcus Brigstocke are among the contestants who have previously been forced to pull out of the competition.

Television presenter and former glamour model  Melinda Messenger withdrew herself from the last series as a result of concussion suffered on the bobsleigh track.

Meanwhile English socialite aristocrat Victoria Hervey and former Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts complete the female line-up for the second series.

While Mike Tindall, the husband of Zara Phillips, JLS' JB Gill, dancing sensation Louie Spence, Gogglebox star Dom Parker, Joey Essex, Jon-Allan Butterworth and Phil Tufnell will be hoping to return home without any broken bones in the boys' camp.

The contestants will have to compete even to join the programme. Hopefuls will tackle a skeleton run, with the fastest racers directly qualifying while the others will be involved in a live ski jump. Those who achieve the shortest distances will have to sit out as substitutes.
