BBC bosses apologise over Foo Fighters double blunder

BBC executives have issued an apology after the FOO FIGHTERS' new song was broadcast uncensored on the organisation's flagship radio station.

Radio 1 host Zane Lowe issued an apology on air on Wednesday night (05Nov14) after the unedited version of Something For Nothing, which features a number of expletives, was broadcast.

The blunder was repeated on Thursday morning (06Nov14), prompting another apology from morning show host Nick Grimshaw and a statement from the corporation, which reads, "We take these situations seriously and, having looked into it, unfortunately the track was played due to human error. The presenters apologised after the record was broadcast, and we are very sorry for any offence caused."

The bungle comes just weeks after the BBC was chastised by the Ofcom regulator for allowing curse words to go out during a live broadcast of Lily Allen's performance at Radio One's Big Weekend festival in May (14).
