Chris Moyles 'retired' from showbusiness just four months after tax avoidance scandal
HE WAS dubbed 'The saviour of Radio 1' during his time on the BBC breakfast show, but it would seem his days in the showbiz limelight are over.
Chris Moyles told The Mirror this weekend: "I’m retired now. I haven’t got any plans and I’m just having a lot of fun.
"I honestly don’t know what I want to do. I’ve done a lot of time on radio and I’ve put myself out there. So, yes, I’m retired. I get to do things like this, come to Glastonbury and hang out.”
The star's revelation comes just months after he was implicated in a tax-avoidance scandal.
The 40-year-old, along with two other men, admitted to joining a tax avoidance scheme which involved him pretending to be a used car salesman 'hit my losses' to save money on tax.
Chris, who earned £500,000-a-year at the BBC, said he accepted "full responsibility" for his actions.
A tribunal ruled he took part "for no purpose other than to achieve a tax saving".
Since quitting his uber-popular radio show in 2012, Chris has tried his hand at acting.
He landed a part in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Jesus Christ Superstar as King Herod - a part he played alongside former Spice Girl Mel C.
