William and Kate are so pleased with the £1.5million makeover of their country home, Anmer Hall, they are due to throw a party for tradesmen, craftsmen and builders, The Sun reports.

The Georgian home near the Sandringham Estate was given to the royal couple by the Queen.

After renovation work, it now boasts a nursery, a new roof and a garden room, while the property's drive has been lined with trees to increase privacy.

It is believed the couple, who are due to have their second child in April, will aim to spend more time at their Norfolk home.

The couple arrived back in Britain yesterday after holidaying on the Carribean island of Mustique.

The trip to celebrate Kate's mother Carole Middleton's 60th birthday is set to be one of the couple's  last foreign visits before their second child is due.

In the meantime William is working to get a pilot's license that will allow him to fly EC145 T2 aircraft when he joins the East Anglia Air Ambulance.

Anmer Hall was sold to the future Edward VII in 1896, and has been used as a grace and favour residence since.

Former tenants of the property include Admiral Sir Frederick Tower Hamilton - a relative of Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, lawyer Francis Jackson Kent, and the Duke and Duchess of Kent.

Before the Cambridges moved in, its last tenant was businessman James Everett.

The Royal couple maintain Anmer Hall as a rural retreat, while their official residence is Kensington Palace, west London.

A spokesman for the couple declined to comment.
