Prince Harry jokes over William's envy at his 'escape from screaming' baby George
PRINCE Harry joked today of his brother William and how envious he would be of him escaping from his nephew baby George.
Speaking from base camp in Antarctica, Prince Harry said: "My brother, I think he's just quite jealous I managed to get away from a screaming child."
Prince Harry is set to race with a team of injured British servicemen and women against groups from the United States and the Commonwealth in an expedition organised by the charity Walking With The Wounded.
The 29-year-old who joined the expedition to the North Pole in 2011 also revealed how his father Charles was worried about his most recent adventure.
He added: "My father was a little bit concerned, I obviously tried to keep him calm by saying the North Pole was the dangerous one because we were walking on frozen ocean, whereas this time, yes, there's crevasses - but hopefully the guys will take us around that.
"Apart from frostbite and stuff like that you should be able to look after yourself."
He also paid tribute to the wounded soldiers, many of whom have lost limbs, taking part in the trek to the South Pole.
Harry said: "The honour and the treat is mine to be able to spend time with these guys."
He added: "They are not heroes, they don't want to be known as heroes despite all the namings that come with all this sort of stuff, they're just people who have had life changing injuries and want to get on with it and have as normal a life as possible from this point forward."
The South Pole Allied Challenge teams had hoped to take part in some skiing training to help acclimatise, but a snow storm and very high winds have left them largely confined to their basic accommodation blocks at their Antarctica base camp.
Harry said: "Now we're here unfortunately we've had really rubbish weather for the last four days which has meant a lot of lying around."
