Queen Elizabeth II lived by the rule, “I have to be seen to be believed,” but Queen Camilla isn’t the kind of person who looks for attention, says one royal journalist.

For weeks on end, Camilla was making front page news, carrying out back-to-back royal engagements, and stepping in for King Charles at public-facing events, and now that the coverage has slowed down, it doesn’t mean Camilla isn’t working hard, it just means that it goes unseen.

Daily Express US spoke to Brittani Barger, co-founder of Royal News, who said: “There’s only so much you can write about it, like ‘Oh she’s covering for the king,’ or ‘Oh, she's doing this,’ people don’t want to read the same articles over and over again.”

She added: “She’s keeping her head down, she’s doing her duty, she’s obviously representing the king, she did that at King Constantine of Greece’s memorial service.”

“It’s not that she’s not doing a great job, it’s not that she's not working hard, it’s just that there’s no need to keep harping on that.”

In addition to carrying out royal engagements, Camilla has her own passion projects, like reading, which is in line with her being the patron of The National Literacy Trust.

“I feel like with Camilla, she’s also one who doesn’t necessarily always want the recognition, she has the things that are important to her, she focuses on those,” says Ms. Barger.

According to Ms Barger, “Members of the media who have met her, have said she’s very kind, she’s very considerate of them and their jobs.”

The royal journalist shares an anecdote to help illustrate that point: “A lot of people like to write letters to the Royal Family to get a Christmas card back or have you.”

“if you write a personal letter to Camilla, she will write back, and a lot of times you will get something in the mail that has come from the Palace that is personally signed, at least when she was the Duchess of Cornwall.”
