In 2018, the Queen is thought to have recorded her speech in mid December.
The speech cannot be recorded too far in advance, as the monarch usually takes the time to reflect on the events of the past year.
With the general election taking place only last week, the speech would need to have taken place after this, so as to remain topical and accurate.
Last year’s speech was filmed in Buckingham Palace’s White Drawing Room, but royal fans will have to wait and see where the speech is set this year.
The theme of the monarch’s speech this year has not yet been confirmed.
However the Queen is sure to mention the Royal Family’s newest addition.
Meghan, Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry, the Queen’s grandson, welcomed baby Archie Harrison this year.
Born in May, Archie is seventh in line to the throne.
