ED Miliband’s picture is being deliberately left off millions of general election leaflets because he damages the chances of victory, it was claimed yesterday.

Ed Miliband is claimed to be damaging Labour's chance of victory

The Labour leader does not appear on scores of pieces of party literature handed out on doorsteps up and down the country.

In one pamphlet, 10 Reasons To Vote Labour, neither Mr Miliband’s name nor his picture can be seen.

Many insiders see him as an Achilles heel in the run-up to polling.

Mr Miliband has endured a string of miserable person- ality ratings when compared with other leaders including Prime Minister David Cameron and Ukip’s Nigel Farage.

He has been cited as Labour’s worst leader since Michael Foot.

Vice-chairman of the Conservative Party Bob Neill MP said yesterday: “Labour is trying to hide Ed Miliband because everyone knows he’s just not up to the job.

“He’s a weak leader who has failed to pull his party together. Just imagine the chaos he would cause for Britain.”

Mr Miliband’s spokesman declined to comment. It is the latest leaflet controversy to hit the Labour Party.

Earlier this year Mr Miliband was accused of trying to “airbrush out” his party’s shameful record on the NHS in Wales.

A Labour leaflet sent to constituencies across England boasts about the party’s plan for the NHS and includes several images of nurses, doctors and hospitals.

But the version delivered in Wales has been modified so it makes no mention of the health service or Labour’s appalling record there.
