Tory MP says Britain would be better off without EU trade deal
THE EU is “too costly politically and economically”, a senior Tory MP warns today.
Brian Binley is wary of our EU membership
Brian Binley said Britain would be better off if trade were taken out of EU control, allowing us to make our own deals.
The true cost of EU membership should be disclosed before any negotiations with Brussels ahead of an in/out referendum.
In a pamphlet for the Civitas think tank, he said: “We need a genuine cost-benefit analysis and we need it quickly.
We don’t need the full gym membership
“Being a full EU member is too costly politically and economically.
"We don’t need the full gym membership.”
Mr Binley said Britain did not need to be in a treaty association that added unnecessary costs “like some crazy insurance plan”.
He added: “We should lift out just the trade sections, then add on individually those bits we think work for us.”
