The horse or hound? Identical pair form inseparable friendship
JOKER the Great Dane and miniature pony Tigger are the animal world’s Odd Couple – not least because the inseparable pair are almost identical.
Double take… Ronnie with odd couple Joker and pony Tigger
The friendship blossomed when their owner Ronnie Jones took Joker as a puppy to her stables and the two formed an instant bond.
As a Harlequin Great Dane, three-year-old Joker’s black and white markings are distinctive and very similar to Tigger, a prize-winning miniature spotted stallion.
And with 15-year-old Tigger just 34in tall, the two now measure up at about the same height.
Ronnie, 63, from Summercourt, Cornwall, shows Tigger at horse shows country-wide and Joker watches patiently as Tigger parades in the ring.
They’re the best of friends, even if we do get some funny looks
Sculptor Ronnie has owned Great Danes and horses for over 20 years.
She said Joker loves going to the stables. “It’s adorable.
"They snuggle when they’re next to each other, and Joker goes in to kiss Tigger’s nose.
“They’re the best of friends, even if we do get some funny looks.”
