Amazing pictures: Winter leaves this lion cub full of the joys of spring
WINTER may be beckoning but one little lion cub certainly has a spring in her step.
While most of us are despairing at the changing seasons, young Karis is in her element among the falling leaves.
In some of the shots she is happy to sit in the damp pile while in other pictures, she exposes her fearsome claws and bats away the leaves.
The cub often looks bemused as they fall over her eyes but eyewitnesses said she squealed with delight as the reds and golden leaves fell all around.
Karis was born on September 10th to mother Teekay and father Dudley at the enclosure. Her big sister Libby was born two years ago.
Karis will grow to around 23 stone and brings the Blair Drummond pride to eight lions in total.
The tot will stay with Teekay for another week while they continue to bond. They will then return to the pride and Karis will go on display next year.
