WhatsApp could be ready to roll out their new voice call feature

Nearly a year after it first announced the service, WhatsApp appear ready to start slowly rolling out its new voice call feature.

One user in India posted his experience on Reddit of the new service, having reportedly gained early access.

The post has since been removed but a video showing how the feature works has appeared on YouTube.

WhatsApp have yet to reveal when fans will get their hands on the full voice call service, although it's likely to work in a similar way to Skype and FaceTime.

It could be part of the rumoured 2.11.508 update, which will reportedly only work on Android devices.

It follows the announcement that fans of the messaging app could now access their account via the Chrome browser.

People can connect by simply heading to the WhatsApp webpage and scanning a QR code using their smartphone, it'll then give you full access to your messages.

All conversations will also automatically sync with your phone, but it's not accessible for everyone.

The web based service is currently only available to Android and Windows owners, leaving iPhone and iPad owners having to stick with messaging just from their phones.
