The Queen in pictures: Her Majesty opens Westminster Abbey gallery
THE QUEEN accompanied by Prince Charles opened the Diamond Jubilee Galleries in London today - see all the pictures from the royal event.
Queen Elizabeth II, 92, looked splendid as she arrived at Westminster Abbey to open the Diamond Jubilee Galleries on Friday.
The Queen wore a magenta coat with matching hat embellished with flowers over a floral dress to the gallery launch.
The once-hidden space will be opened to the public for the very first time giving spectacular views of the church and the Houses of Parliament.
The exhibition will display over 300 items from the Westminster Abbey archive including Queen Mary’s coronation chair and the wedding licence of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
The Queen was joined by her son Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales, 69.
