Movie star merch: Wild auction of memorabilia
THE WILD One star Marlon Brando’s leather jacket and a John Wayne stetson are part of a celebrity collection set to make hundreds of thousands of pounds at auction this week.

Walt Disney’s Mickey Mouse ears and the boxing gloves used in Laurel and Hardy’s The Battle Of The Century will also be up for grabs when the bidding starts next Saturday.
The items once belonged to US talk show host Joe Franklin, who used to ask his guests for a souvenir.
The anonymous owner bought the items from Franklin’s collection over several years.

Lots include Janis Joplin’s harmonica, a baseball glove used by Babe Ruth, Steve McQueen’s racing jacket and Alfred Hitchcock’s collapsible top hat.
Signed prints from music greats Nat King Cole, Cab Calloway and Count Basie will also go under the hammer.

Auctioneer Floyd Hartford, at the Maine-based salesroom, said: “It is very unusual to get an auction like this.
“We are just a small outfit so this is exciting and fantastic for us. There has been lots of interest.

Joe Franklin interviewed 300,000 guests, including Grace Kelly, Judy Garland, Audrey Hepburn, Mae West, Humphrey Bogart and Burt Lancaster.
