Sharing her dilemma, she said: "Does anyone know how to get my peace lily to flower? It had lots of flowers when it was given to me about six months ago.

"They gradually died off and it hasn't flowered since. Grateful for any help."

While some recommended ensuring adequate water, nutrients, and a spacious pot for growth, one commenter, shared a particularly effective tip.

Hyland revealed that she regularly nourishes her peace lily with banana skin-infused water, resulting in year-round flowering.

Experts at Lively Root backed this practice, stating on their website: "Yes, flowering plants like peace lilies respond well to banana water.

"This is because it's rich in potassium, which promotes the plant's overall health."

Banana water act as a special elixir for plants to help them flourish.

To concoct this natural fertiliser, begin by chopping banana skins into small pieces.

Then, place the banana pieces in a bowl of water and allow them to steep for two to three days.

Remove the banana bits, then transfer the infused water into a watering can or bottle.

Lastly, use the banana water on your peace lily by pouring it near the base of the plant, ensuring it reaches the roots.

Other flowers like hydrangeas, orchids, and roses are also fans of banana peel water.
