Iceland launches pre-sliced frozen avocado halves to combat fearful ‘avocado hand’
ICELAND has come to the rescue of brunch lovers across the UK, just in time for the weekend, with the launch of its ‘injure proof’ Frozen Avocados.
Iceland has launched frozen avocados
It’s been a stressful week for avocado lovers – first, there were rumblings of potential shortages, then came news of the ‘global epidemic’ that is ‘avocado hand’, which of course relates to instances where people are managing to injure themselves from either trying to remove the stone from the avocado, or slice one that is not quite ripe enough.
The supermarket’s new frozen avocados - which are being rolled out in select stores across the UK from today (Friday 12th May) come pre-stoned, pre-peeled and pre-clicid to avoid and potential ‘Avocado Hand’ type injuries.
They are also frozen at the peak of ripeness, meaning you can also avoid those awkward moments squeezing avocados on the fruit and veg aisle.
And in a bid to tackle household food waste, they’re also pre-portioned, meaning you can use what you need and keep the rest in the freezer, and say goodbye to rotting avocado halves left in the fridge.
