Alex Ferguson fears Arsenal bid
SIR Alex Ferguson has admitted old foes Arsenal have re-emerged as a serious threat to Manchester United’s bid for a record fourth successive Premier League title.
The Gunners have been written off twice this season after defeats by Chelsea in November and United in January. But recent stumbles by the top two have allowed Arsene Wenger’s side to slip back into the race, three points behind Chelsea and two behind United.
“Arsenal are bang in the frame now,” said Ferguson. “On paper, they have the easiest programme and it will be an interesting run-in. Chelsea losing to Manchester City was a good result for us, but there are a lot of hard games left.”
Rio Ferdinand has declared himself fit and ready to make his third comeback from the back injury that has plagued his season.
