The budget flyer, which is expanding routes and buying new planes, says customer numbers flew up by 28 per cent to 6.67 million last month compared with March 2014.

The amount of occupied seats - the so-called load factor - rose from 80 to 90 per cent.

Chief marketing officer Kenny Jacobs credited "lower fares, our stronger forward booking strategy and the continuing success of our 'always getting better' programme", which will continue with a new website and app, fresh menus and reduced airport fees.
