Ryanair spreads its business class wings
BUDGET flyer Ryanair ramped up its battle for business passengers yesterday by joining forces with travel agents’ website Amadeus.
The Irish carrier said that through the partnership Amadeus would get access to details of its fares and route networks.
This includes its new Business Plus service aimed at high-end business customers offering priority boarding, fast-track security and flexible bookings allowing changes to be made at short notice.
Traditionally Ryanair offered tickets through its own website but earlier this year it agreed a similar deal with website Travelport.
Amadeus’s technology represents a significant opportunity for us to reach a wider range of business and corporate customers
The airline wants a third of its passengers to be business travellers by the end of the decade, up from 27 per cent now.
Chief executive Michael O’Leary said: “Amadeus’s technology represents a significant opportunity for us to reach a wider range of business and corporate customers.”
Amadeus’s senior vice president of distribution Holger Taubmann said: “Our technology will enable travel agencies to book Ryanair flights easily and seamlessly.”
