Doddle, a joint venture between Travelex founder Lloyd Dorfman and Network Rail, will open “click and collect” stores in 300 train stations in the next three years.

Employing 3,000 people, the company will invest £24million in the stores which will operate seven days a week.

The first shop, which will deal with online shopping collections and returns, will open in Milton Keynes with other stations lined up including London Waterloo, Brighton and Chelmsford.

Doddle has also signed up Asos, New Look and TM Lewin as partners with customers able to choose the Doddle option of collection at checkout.

It says any retailer can offer the service and is on the hunt for other partners.

Dorfman said: “We intend to provide a game-changing service for millions of online shoppers.”

Robin Gisby, Network Rail’s managing director, network operations, said: “Stations have become more than just a place to wait for or get off a train.”
