Vodafone seals deal with Zain
MOBILE phone group Vodafone has done a deal with Kuwait based telecoms operator Zain to expand in the Middle East.
The firm plans to work with Zain firms in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan and Iraq, allowing it to offer travellers cheaper calls without expensive buyouts or investment.
It will boost the number of countries where Vodafone has partnerships to more than 50.
Zain will be able to use the company’s phones and services in its home markets and its brand.
Vodafone’s Ravinder Takkar said: “Our agreement with Zain provides an opportunity for Vodafone to build its presence.”
