Britvic flat after Irish sales drop
THE collapse of the Irish economy took some of the fizz out of soft-drinks group Britvic, the maker of Robinsons, Tango and Fruit Shoot.
Chief executive Paul Moody blamed “very challenging” conditions in Ireland for a 16.3 per cent drop in revenues generated in the country during the last quarter to September, despite strong growth during the rest of the year. This overshadowed success in the UK and internationally.
Fourth quarter revenues rose 4.2 per cent to £246.5million while full-year figures jumped 5.7 per cent to £978.8million.
