Ball set to sign as new ITV boss
FORMER BSkyB boss Tony Ball is in talks with rival network ITV about becoming the next chief executive of the Coronation Street broadcaster, it emerged yesterday.
He is said to be negotiating terms for the job that has been created by the decision of ITV’s executive chairman Michael Grade to split his dual role and step back from day-to-day control in favour of becoming part-time chairman.
If appointed, Ball is likely to approach shareholders to see if they would support a rights issue to strengthen the company’s finances.
